Maria Izabel Reis is a Senior Legal Manager with extensive expertise in business, corporate, and compliance law. With years of experience managing legal departments for major organizations, she specializes in international commercial law, compliance, corporate governance, and digital laws. Izabel has led complex legal projects across Latin America, including mergers, acquisitions, infrastructure contracts, and corporate restructuring. She excels in aligning legal strategies with business goals, implementing compliance policies, and managing high-level negotiations with government entities. Her background includes drafting contracts, risk mitigation, and ensuring adherence to global legal standards. ​

Maria Izabel has vast experience in mergers and acquisitions, having coordinated the acquisition and integration of acquired companies in Brazil and managed the transfer of trademarks and assets across Latin America. She also led the development of a comprehensive Contracts Policy, training all relevant teams, creating standard templates, and establishing contract controls with reporting KPIs for both LATAM and global management.​

In compliance, Maria Izabel handled communications and audits related to Compliance and Security Trade Controls (STC) issues. She also supported clients in exploring and negotiating international business opportunities, offering detailed regulatory research and legal advice to guide market entry and expansion.​

Her project management background includes financing, M&A, and infrastructure projects. She successfully managed the acquisition of two companies in Brazil, the issuance of $500 million in Green Bonds and CRA, and oversaw the legal work for the implementation of a new pulp mill in Paraná, Brazil, along with expansions at other manufacturing sites.
