Professor Rolf von Roessing brings 30 years of experience in a wide range of fields such as governance, risk management and compliance; security and business continuity; and crisis management in a range of sectors, including banking and finance, insurance, wholesale and retail, automotive, and healthcare. He is a former senior partner at KPMG and director at EY. Prior to entering the consulting field, he was Head of IT for the EMEA region at G4S.
He has been teaching as a senior lecturer in M. Sc. courses at the University for Advanced Studies in Krems (Austria) since 2005 and is a member of the Academic Council for M. Sc. Management and IT, M. Sc. Information Security Management, and M. Sc. Cybersecurity.
Rolf has been a member of ISACA since 1997, serving as International Vice President from 2009 to 2011, and as Global Vice Chair from 2019 to 2021. In his work for the association, he was the lead architect and author for many of their key frameworks. He has also been a long-standing member of the Business Continuity Institute, serving on the global Board of Directors from 2001 to 2008, and as Chairman of the Audit Committee from 2003 to 2008.
As a complement to his consulting work, he has published extensively in business and academia, including several reference works on business continuity and resilience. His writing has also been instrumental in shaping several legislative and regulatory initiatives in continuity, security and governance / risk / compliance.
