Rafael Ferrão is a Trade Analyst, dedicated to expanding markets and strategically accessing international trade, with deep expertise in trade remedies, and customs legislation, and institutional/government relations. He manages our trade remedy investigations and analyzes all possible strategies that the trade authorities could carry out. This analysis is invaluable in obtaining the best possible outcome for our clients. Rafael also counts with prominent communication skills developed over his career, a proven track record of successful projects involving government relations, with a variety of bodies/agencies of the Brazilian government, as well as with industry associations. This is why Rafael also performs a key role in the area of government interface.​

Rafael's extensive experience spans 11 years at the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC). His responsibilities included serving in anti-dumping and safeguarded investigations (initiated between 2007 and 2012) for the Brazilian domestic industry. Rafael also conducted on-the-spot verifications performed by DECOM (domestic industry, importers, and exporters). Additionally, he executed a project for Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for Promoting Exports and Investments) to promote trade and development in the Brazilian aquaculture segment. He has also been involved in supporting a Brazilian bicycle association, Aliança Bike, in identifying strategies to reduce tariffs on imports and sales of bikes and e-bikes before the Brazilian Government, and, moreover, Rafael has supported many foreign clients in trade remedy investigations for which he had to lead verifications and compliance audit exercises at the client premises, including companies in Poland, Czech Republic, Egypt, India, China, Ukraine, Hungary, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Belgium, among others.
