Luis Diaz-Ibarra supports the team serving as a LATAM Liaison to Asia – Pacific region. His main areas of focus are trade remedies investigations, market access opportunities, and commercial diplomacy. His background in multilateral diplomacy and negotiation in his years at the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, helped him to develop skills to find concerted solutions in the frame of cooperation among the parties involved. He supports the team in coordinating its works in LATAM and Asia-Pacific, including preparing documentation, on-site verifications, and follow-up, which are vital tasks to go one step ahead of the investigations we are involved in. On the other hand, Luis has overseen research and analysis of trade statistics regarding foreign trade and potential trade remedies openings and sunset reviews, serving as a bridge with several Embassies and Trade Offices, granting alignment with governments. Luis' fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish jointly to his other skills, as regional integration, has been crucial in the pursuit of Sidera's projects goals.​

Luis' experience spans 4 years at Venezuela's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His responsibilities included being the focal point of the country for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), supporting the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission at Geneva concerning the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies' negotiations, participating, preparing positions and coordinating participation at the United Nations Economic and Financial (Second Committee – UNNY). Also, he was involved in several WTO matters. Luis also supported trade defense investigations, including on-site verifications (importers and exporters), with active participation pre and post-verification. Additionally, he has supported many foreign clients in trade remedies investigations, including companies in Brazil, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
